In April 2015 the Dutch hacker scene convened somewhere unusually comfortable for a hacker con: a hotel. Hacker Hotel 2015 ran April 10–12 at the Charme Hotel Overbosch in Garderen, in the wooded middle of the Netherlands, and I came over to give a forty-six-minute talk on biohacking.
The billing was one word: "biohacking." Ten years into living with implants, I had no trouble filling that brief. Hacker events are my favorite rooms for this subject: nobody needs the primer on what RFID is, so the conversation can start where general audiences usually run out of steam. The Netherlands kept turning up on my 2015 calendar, too. A Dutch documentary in January, this talk in April, Amsterdam again by October.
