On August 29, 2017, futurist Nikolas Badminton published episode 013 of his new Exponential Minds Podcast: "The Future of Biohacking," thirty-six minutes of conversation with me.
Nik and I had history: in June 2014, at the From Now conference in Vancouver, I implanted an xNT chip into his left hand. The questions came from a fellow implantee, three years into living with the hardware, asking where all of it goes next rather than what the strange chip people are up to.
The episode description carried the credo I'd been repeating since Dangerous Things began: our bodies are our own, to do with what we want, and biohacking is the forefront of a new kind of evolution. It also kept my favorite formulation of why any of it matters: "The 'socially acceptable' of tomorrow will be defined by boundaries pushed today." In 2017 that still needed arguing, and a host with an xNT in his own hand was a natural place to argue it.
