On July 26, 2017, Sam Barton's Talk of Today podcast published a fifty-five-minute conversation with me under the banner "Biohacking and Transhumanism." The episode's thesis was stated right up front: "We can now take our evolution into our own hands."
The bill of topics ran wide even by my standards: encryption and what the episode notes called "the one key to rule them all," RFID and magnetic implantables, genetic engineering with CRISPR-Cas9, and transhumanism generally. The notes summarized the range of what today's technology already allows, "from paying for stuff with a wave of a hand, to actually changing our very own genetic makeup." My end of it stayed where it usually does: the chips that open doors and sign data today are the practical, shipping edge of that much larger conversation.
